Women’s Parkour Workshop

There has been a lot of interest in doing another women’s Parkour workshop, so here we go!

This time, the gym has finished it’s construction, so we will have lots more to play with! With this two hour workshop we will help you expand what it is to move and explore. We will teach you how to maneuver vaults, scaffolding, walls, and other obstacles! No experience necessary to join us for some fun and exercise!

The class will be taught by Legacy Parkour’s (Portland parkour street team members) Jevin Dulak and Chris Miller. It will be held at Oregon’s parkour gym Revolution Parkour in Beaverton.

On February 25th from 4-6pm. All women ages 14 to 65 are welcome. No previous athletic ability required.

Come 10 minutes early if it’s your first time to fill out a RVPK waiver.

The workshop is $10 if you pre-register, or $15 at the door. Click here to pre-register and then go to the “Events” tab.

If you have any question, do not hesitate to ask!

Gym Upgrade Tour 7/7

Let’s get nostalgic here RVPKers. What do the new platforms above the viewing area remind you of?

Reminds me a bit of Super Mario Bros. Level 2. On our way to the secret levels…

Gym Upgrade Tour 5/7

I am not going to deny the complexity of this sweet area. This area includes a 9 foot wall and an 11 foot wall. Three bars approximately 9 feet tall, 6 feet apart and a 9 foot platform that can house a vault.

Gym Upgrade Tour 4/7

Somewhat menacing this sweet “wrap” idea starts with a 7 foot parkube on the left goes up to 12 feet before droping down to a 9 foot platform. After that we have a 6, 4, 5 foot parkubes which are great for early progressions. What should we call it?

Gym Upgrade Tour 2/7

Alright! Great ideas yesterday! Let’s see what you come up with today. Next picture includes a 9 foot and 10 foot slanted wall parkube, with a 9 foot balance beam and a sloped beam that goes from 9 feet to 12 feet. The beams are great for training balance or for you Ninja Warrior fans, it’s the upper body work out you’ve been dreaming of.

Gym Upgrade Tour 1/7

We have a bunch of new equipment in the gym but very little of it has a name. That is where we need your help. For the next week we will be posting photos of the new structures and we need your help giving them cool nicknames. Think large scale as we already nickname parts of structures by height. For instance the 7 foot Parkube is often referred to as the “7 footer” but now we have two, so which one does the instructor mean?!

Another for instance: All of our vaults have names like Antique, Black Widow, Shin Breaker, Beast etc.

Alright, so first photo. What should we call this area? This includes the 3 1/2 foot, 7 1/2 foot and 10 foot Parkubes with planter style gaps and the large hollow doorway on the right.

We’re Back!

Contemplating the Next MoveOf course we never left…but the website is up and running! Thanks to our web gurus we will be able to keep our students up-to-date by posting new events and announcements on our website.

We will still send out newsletters about once a month to keep everyone posted on big changes but you won’t be getting a million emails telling you about slight changes unless you request it because it directly applies to you.

One wild thing about the new site: we’re now running what’s known as responsive web design. What this means is that the RVPK website will tailor itself to the device you view it on, from an iPod Touch to an iPad to your notebook computer. You can get a peek at this working if you play with the size of your browser window.

So, everyone at once…what do you think?
